Sile na gig 6
Mysterious, primal, and unapologetically powerful—this series of drawings on paper is inspired by the enigmatic Sheela-na-Gigs of Ireland. These ancient stone carvings, with their raw, unfiltered expressions of the feminine, have long been symbols of fertility, protection, and defiance. In these works, their spirit is reimagined—bold lines and delicate textures capturing the tension between vulnerability and strength, history and reinterpretation.
Echoing the ritualistic and the rebellious, these drawings explore the timeless presence of the female body as both sacred and subversive. A fusion of mythology and contemporary vision, they invite the viewer to confront, question, and celebrate the power of the Sheela-na-Gig.
